Lesser-known US manufacturer Thiel Audio has launched a new speaker; the Bill Gates bothering 'PowerPoint' surround.
With a surface hugging aluminium wedge design, the PowerPoint extends less than 140mm from the wall, mounting a coaxial 6.5 inch woofer and a one inch tweeter. In total the PowerPoint can handle 200 watts power – impressive considering the size.
The PowerPoint also features a short voice coil/long magnetic gap motor system; powerful neodymium magnets; copper sleeved pole pieces and rigid aluminium diaphragms. You get the choice of a few colour finishes, as well as being able to paint it yourself if you're feeling brave.
