24 August 2007 – Following recent announcements from Yamaha and Boston Acoustics, Polk Audio has decided to release their own soundbar speaker.
The Polk SurroundBar50 is looks to be adequate in the hardware department, at least where soundbar speakers are concerned.
As the name suggest, the SurroundBar50 is designed to fit snugly underneath a 50-inch TV, eliminating the need for rear mounted speakers, supposedly.
As with similar offerings, Polk’s SuuroundBar50 attempts to recreate surround sound through delays along its axis, giving the perception of surround sound.
This product will be available in October with an MSRP of $1,099.95.
