The sub $200 HD DVD player is once again being rumored to be hitting the shelves at Wal-Mart soon. According to an employee, he recently “saw a Toshiba UPC in their system labeled “Toshiba HDA2-W” priced at $198.”
There have been some more “affordable” HD DVD players hitting the market, but a player that is actually less than $200 should hit that magic spot for a lot of consumers. Having that sub $200 player in the store before the holiday shopping season could be very good for HD DVD and with enough players being sold we could also expect an increase in available movie titles.
