Proving that the Italians simply cannot make an unattractive speaker, the new Fiesole monitors from Rosso Fiorentino look absolutely stunning. The Fiesole is a two-way monitor with a 6.5” Nomex woofer and a 1-1/8” hand treated cloth soft dome tweeter mounted in a rear-ported enclosure.
The cabinet is trapezoid shaped, presumably to avoid standing waves caused by multiple parallel sides. Frequency response is claimed at 50Hz-20kHz, with sensitivity rated at 87dB/W/m. Interestingly, an optional .75” piezoelectric ceramic dome super-tweeter can be inserted into the front baffle to extend frequency response all the way to 100kHz. Additional features are Van den Hul internal wiring, a pair of WBT binding posts, and a satin-gloss lacquer finish, with custom finishes available.
