There has been quite a buzz over Sony’s miniscule 11-inch OLED HDTV. With reported contrast ratios of 1,000,000:1, there should be quite a buzz.
Stan Glasgow, President of Sony Electronics, has revealed that the US might see the release of the XEL-1 OLED HDTV before the holiday season.
He remarked that it depended on its success in Japan and a reasonable demand in its initial release. Here’s to hoping that the Japanese go crazy over the XEL-1 to warrant a US release, but not crazy enough to seriously deplete the stock.
Although many people might be reticent to spend $1,800 for an 11-inch screen, I for one would love to at least play around with one for awhile. (This is a shameless plug for Sony to send me one)
