The MPIO MO100 is yet another DAP to be introduced into the already saturated market of inexpensive MP3 players. The player has all the usual features found in yesterday’s MP3 players, such as color screen, FM tuner, recording capabilities, and MP3 / WMA / SMV / JPEG / BMP format support.
The MO100 will be available in either 1 or 2 gig flavors, and will be capable of 12 hours of continuous music playback. Despite this original feature set, the MO100 is surprisingly just a rebadge of Grundig’s MPix2000 that was released earlier this year. Even though the MO100 won’t win any awards for originality, it will probably go on sell for well under $50; which is really the player’s only saving grace.
