The latest speaker from Mythos Audio is called the Olon, an ancient Greek word which means “the whole” or “all encompassing”.
The new Olon slots into the Mythos line below the towering Aenaon flagship. The Olon’s cabinet measures 63″ H x 19.7″ W x 28.3″ D and is made from many layers of stacked birch plywood, which gives it a stunning and unique appearance.
The driver compliment consists of a Mundorf Air motion transformer tweeter flanked by two ScanSpeak midranges in a D’Appolito array, and a Visaton bass driver augmented by a large front port. The front baffle is stepped to provide proper time alignment for the drivers, and the crossover components and internal wiring are also supplied by Mundorf. Frequency response is rated at 18Hz – 40kHz, with 88dB/W/m sensitivity and 8 Ohm impedance.
Expect the price to be in the “if you have to ask” range.
