We recently brought you news of projectiondesign's crazy looking and crazy named Action! M25, the world's smallest 1080p projector. But darn our enthusiasm, because in the excitement we were actually checking out the American version of the projector, and our good old Brit version sports some differences, not least the removal of that Action! moniker.
Due October and very competitively priced (in the £5,000 class), the M25 features a Texas Instruments 0.95in 1080p DMD processor and BrilliantColor technology, which promises increased colour saturation to drool-inducing levels. There's also fully internalised ten-bit video processing with 24fps film support, brightness levels reaching 1,000 lumens and a true 5,000:1 contrast ratio.
The inclusion of HDMI 1.3 will wring every ounce of audio and visual detail from your next-gen HD-DVD or Blu-ray discs, including the joys of lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD audio and there's a nine-pin DSUB RS232 port for hooking up your home cinema to get that authentic Odeon experience.
Not only is the M25 likely to be one of the best performing projectors on the market, factor in its Schwarzenegger build quality married to the Van Damme price point and Stallone-sized footprint and you're likely looking at one of the big new stars of cinema.
