NAD has built up an enviable reputation for high-quality budget hi-fi over the years, and its new £165 CD player looks set to continue the trend.
The C515BEE player is designed to match the company’s slimline C315BEE amplifier. NAD says every component in the C515BEE’s circuitry has been carefully selected to ensure optimum performance – from the 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analogue converters, chosen for low noise, to the audiophile analogue OP amps.
The player can handle MP3 and WMA files as well as conventional CDs, and the display can be switched to show total playback time, time remaining or time per track.
NAD also claims that the regulated low-noise power supply circuits and individual circuit boards ensure the delicate digital audio circuitry is well isolated from the demands of the motor and display.
A Repeat and Repeat A-B function allows users to listen carefully to a specific piece of music, and the player can be programmed to play only selected tracks on a CD.
Additional features include a remote control, dimmable display and coaxial and optical digital outputs. The C515BEE is available in two finishes, grey or titanium.
