Energy speakers has released a new model in their popular series of “Take” compact home theater speaker packages, called the Take Classic. The new Take Classic 5.1 speaker set builds on the success of Energy’s acclaimed Take 5. The five magnetically-shielded satellites stand less than 7” high, weigh less than 3 pounds, and are finished in high-gloss black. They utilize a “Convergent Source Module” with a 3” poly-titanium woofer and a .75” Hyperbolic aluminum-dome tweeter.
The front and rear L/R speakers are rear ported, while the center uses twin front-firing ports. The 200 watt front ported subwoofer uses an 8” MPP woofer with Energy/Mirage’s Ribbed Elliptical Surround technology to provide low frequencies. The Take Classic system is priced at $599, and is now shipping.
