30 August 2007 – Remember that leaked Wi-Fi Gigabeat we reported on a few months ago? Well Toshiba just announced it. It’s called the Gigabeat T401 and will use WiFi to download content from the internet such as podcasts. The player is very reminiscent of the Gigabeat S-series, but this time around it will have flash memory.

Back from the dead, Microsoft’s Portable Media Center will be used for the player’s operating system. The T401 will also feature Toshiba’s "H2C" audio technology which they touted with the previously released U-Series. The T401 will be released in Japan in the first week of September at a price of 29,800 Yen, or about $257US.
