It was just a week ago that we brought you the rumors surrounding the iRiver Clix 3 and its potential delay in release. Rumors are again streaming around the net except this time the rumors have nothing to do with the release date but instead surround pictures of the device.
It was September 19th that iRiver gave a presentation of their upcoming PMPs of the fourth quarter and beyond, but it appears that individuals have been analyzing the presentation for potential deeper meaning. iRiver were evidently throwing around subtle hints about their upcoming iRiver Clix 3 according to some iRiver fans. The rumors stem from one of the beginning images in the presentation as shown below:
The first image at the top-left resembles a Clix 2, but is the device the Clix 2 or the Clix 3? Unfortunately, we are not quite sure ourselves.
A poster on clixhere.net’s forums is quick to point out that the top-left image is not the Clix 3 but instead resembles a similar image [shown above] of the Clix 2. Another responding poster snipes at the speculative poster stating that, “iriver announces a third generation to their acclaimed clix series and doesn’t show off a picture at their press junction? For all we know, iriver could have stuck with the soap design of the clix 2.”
Moving away from rumors, there is now some pretty solid news concerning the specifications of the upcoming Clix 3. Michael Zhang of iRiverFans has some inside information on iRiver’s plans revealing information that will make us reel for more.
We already know that the Clix 3 will sport a 3.0-inch LCD display, but Zhang informs us that the device features a 1.3-inch HDD with a capacity of 33GB of storage. This falls right in line with previous speculation of the choice of HD storage instead of the fast-becoming-popular flash memory alternative. Zhang is reporting that the device will see a release date of November – we will hold him to it!
